Amanda grew up in Wahoo, NE, where her passion for animal care was inspired at a young age by her godmother, a veterinary technician who worked closely with wildlife rescues and rehabilitation groups. Helping care for rehab animals alongside her godmother sparked Amanda’s lifelong dedication to veterinary medicine.
Amanda earned her veterinary technology degree from Vatterott College in 2002 and brings extensive experience to her role. She spent many years as an LVT at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo and has also worked in veterinary hospitals that assisted with wildlife rescue, raptor recovery, and animal control, giving her a broad and well-rounded background in animal care.
At home, Amanda is accompanied by her dogs, Lani and Lou. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and their three children, a son and two teenage daughters, whose busy schedules are filled with sports activities. In her spare time, Amanda loves traveling, trying new foods, and relaxing with her family by watching movies whenever time allows.
