Adam—Director of Operations
Adam has a degree in operations management from Kansas State University. He currently manages 3 clinics, Ridgeview Animal Hospital in Omaha, Walnut Creek Veterinary Clinic in Papillion, and our newest addition to the veterinary family, Skyline Veterinary Clinic in Elkhorn. He is married to Joanne, who is the owner of Ridgeview Animal Hospital in Omaha. They have five children: Jack, Lucy, Vivien, Jay, and Eddie. Their family pets are a cat, Mellie, and a Border Collie/Shepherd mix named Tex who was rescued from a shelter in Dallas, and Angus the cattle dog, adopted from Heartland German Shepherd Rescue. Since managing 3 busy clinics isn’t enough, Adam and Joey are foster parents and Adam is founder and volunteer coordinator for Truck Brigade. Truck Brigade serves former foster youth by delivering furniture to their new homes.
Shannon is a licensed veterinary technician who graduated from NCTA and has been with us since 2001. Her technical skills are incredible! She is knowledgeable and friendly. Shannon transitioned into the administrative role in our practice in 2012. Dr. Gaines and Shannon worked together prior to opening Walnut Creek. She has a dachshund named Stella, and her and her husband, Jay, have three sons, Gavin, Malik, and Braden. Shannon is the practice administrator for Ridgeview Animal Hospital, Walnut Creek Veterinary Clinic, and Skyline Veterinary Clinic.
Lauren – Clinic Manager
Lauren grew up on a farm outside of a small town in Nebraska. She attributed her love for animals and work ethic to her upbringing. She has loved animals for as long as she can remember and could not imagine doing anything different in life than loving and taking care of them. Lauren graduated from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in 2004 where she received a Veterinary Technician degree and took the national board exam to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Lauren loves music and going to concerts! When she’s not at the clinic you might find Lauren reading, spending as much time as possible with her family or visiting the farm where she grew up as a child. Lauren shares her life with a cat named Dempsey as well as a rescue dog named Quinn.
Melissa—Licensed Veterinary Technician
Melissa Peterson is a Fremont native and obtained her Associate of Applied Science Degree from Vatterott College in 2009. She completed her externship at our sister clinic Ridgeview Animal Hospital and joined the Walnut Creek staff as a licensed technician in March of 2010 before transitioning to Skyline Veterinary Clinic in January of 2016 as an LVT/Clinic Manager. In addition to being a tech, Melissa enjoys fishing, music, softball and being outdoors. She also is a diehard Husker fan! She currently resides in Omaha with her husband Grant, their son Waylon and their fuzzy kids Daphne, Janis, Roxie, and Kitler.
Mindy – Licensed Veterinary Technician
Mindy is from a small town in Iowa. She has spent most of her career working in the Phoenix area but returned home about five years ago. She has experience working with small animals, exotics, and large animals. She has always enjoyed working with animals and it has been a passion of hers since she was young.
Courtney – Licensed Veterinary Technician
Courtney went to School at Iowa Western and she graduated in 2011. She has been in a clinic since 2005, started at our sister clinic Ridgeview Animal Hospital in 2015 and joined Skyline in 2019 She is married to Andrew and has 1 son named Leo. They also have a dog named Penny, who they rescued from HUGS. Courtney is a great fit to our team and we are very excited to have her!
Holly – Veterinary Technician
Holly has been a vet tech in the Des Moines area for the past 10 years and recently moved to Omaha with her Fiancé Jason. Together they have 4 girls; Hailei, Tiegan, Roselyn and a new baby named Michelle! They also have 2 cats (Baci & Kimani) and a dog (Hyrum). She graduated from Des Moines Area Community College with her Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2008. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting and reading.
Caitlin—Veterinary Technician Student
Caitlin is originally from Iowa and is currently working towards getting her veterinary technician degree through PennFoster. Caitlin, her husband, and their new baby boy William love spending time with their dogs Kincaid and Storm and their cat, Arabella. Caitlin and her husband also are active fosters with a local rescue, Hands Hearts, and Paws. Her hobbies include reading, fishing and spending time with family.
Megan—Veterinary Technician Student
Megan has been a flexible team member lending a hand at the front desk with client care specialist duties as well as caring for patients in the back as a student veterinary assistant. She is currently attending PennFoster and working toward becoming a veterinary technician. As a Pit Bull lover, Megan has one of her own named Sebastian and a cat named Cleo. Outside of the office she enjoys playing volleyball.
Hannah – Veterinary Technician Student
Hannah was born and raised in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She is currently attending Iowa Western Community College, and will graduate the Veterinary Technician program in May, 2019. She first realized her love for animals at her Aunt & Uncle’s farm as a child. She loves working in small animal practice but also enjoys working with large animals as well. She shares her life with a Blue Heeler/Border Collie Mix named Mable who enjoys getting dirty, playing in the snow, and being a huge cuddle bug. In her free time, you might find Hannah camping, fishing, or taking Mable out on adventures.
Saige – Veterinary Assistant
Saige grew up in Midtown Omaha, Nebraska. She is currently enrolled at Penn Foster to become a veterinary technician. She first realized she wanted to get into the veterinary field when she was just a young girl. She would care for feral cats around the neighborhood she grew up in. Saige has always been an animal lover and surrounded by all different species thanks to her father. Her cats, Willow and Nala like to chase each other around the house and at night Willow likes to cuddle under the blankets. Nala is very vocal and demands attention 24/7. Her dogs, Sadie and Shasta have always been sneaky and love to get into anything within their reach. Despite both of them being seniors they have yet to calm down. Paige also likes to listen to music and sing along with her pets as an audience. She also have a habit of reading the same novels over and over again.
Sarah – Client Care Specialist
Sarah joined our team June 2018 and She has been working with dogs as a foster home for rescue for over 10 years and decided recently to combine her career in customer service with her love of pets! She and her husband Brian moved from Kansas to the Omaha area in 2013 and their full house includes German Shepherds Moose and Inara, a Westie mix Logan, and various foster dogs through Heartland German Shepherd Rescue. In her free time, Sarah enjoys all things outdoors: camping, hiking, swimming, and cycling are favorites.
Janine – Client Care Specialist
Janine and her husband, Neal have a house full of pets. They have three dogs – Max, a Chihuahua, and Oliver and Raegan, both Papillions. They also have two cats, Bam Bam and Suki, Siamese cats, and 4 hens- Gretel, Clementine, Rosemary, and Eleanor. Janine came to us from a local practice and is a perfect fit for our team! She started in August 2012 at our sister clinic Ridgeview Animal Hospital and just transferred out to Skyline in August 2016. We are very excited to have her!
Violet – Client Care Specialist
Violet joined the team in 2018. She is our flex CCS, sharing her time between the three clinics. She was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, spending most of her life turning her house into a menagerie. Her current partner in crime is a goofy cattle dog mix named Sophie—the two of them wreak havoc by curling up on the sofa with a good book.
Jerry – Facility Manager
Jerry Ravnsborg grew up on a Farm where you learn to do all kinds of things. He has a BS in Business Administration and owned a manufacturing company, where he later went into technical sales of industrial automation in a three-state area. As a retiree, he enjoys living on an acreage with his wife Carol of 51 years. Their Son is Dr. BJ Ravnsborg, located at the Walnut Creek Veterinary clinic. They have a Daughter Amy in KC who is an air traffic controller. Their family has 4 grandchildren, two boys, and two girls. He enjoys working with his hands and currently provides maintenance services for Ridgeview, Walnut Creek and Skyline Clinics.
